Major Tournament Rules
MAJOR TOURNAMENT RULES & MODIFIERS
1. No Slide Tackling.
2. No Throw-Ins. All touchline restarts are Indirect Kick-Ins.
3. Goalkicks taken from anywhere on "endline".
4. All Free Kicks/Restarts are "Indirect" except Penalty Kick & Corner Kick.
5. Goal Scoring Clarification & Attacking Half Rule: The ball must be touched inside the attacking half for goal to count. For further clarification, the midfield "line" is NOT part of the attacking half. The ball must be clearly in the attacking half AND touched by an attacking player (rev 12/13/24 10 PM CST).
6. 2 Halves of 10 Minutes Each Half (Note: game does not end at 12 goals as stated in rules)
7. Halftime break - 60 seconds. 2nd Half begins strictly at 2 minutes after halftime whistle.
8. Points Per Game: Win = 3 points; Draw = 1 point; Loss = 0 points
9. Box Rule:
- If a defending player touches ball in box it is a penalty kick taken from the
- If a defending player "blocks" a shot on goal while in the box, then it is a goal.
- If an attacking player touches ball in box it is a goalkick (taken from endline or within box).
10. Standings Tiebreakers:
- 1st Step: Goal Difference Up to 5 GDF
- 2nd Step: Goals Allowed.
- 3rd Step: Goals Scored.
- Penalty Kick Tiebreaker (Best after 3 shooters, then sudden goal, must recycle shooters after 3 shooters, 1st shooter can be 4th shooter, 2nd shooter can be 5th shooter, etc)
- If after 3 rounds the teams are still tied, the referee may make each subsequent penalty attempt more difficult (i.e. the kick distance might be moved back in 5 yard intervals, etc, with the stipulation that each round the same level of difficulty is applied to both teams).
